Snackbox Review/Giveaway + Coupon Code

Needless to say, I've had a slight obsession with subscription boxes lately.  When the folks over at Snackbox offered to send me their December box for review, I jumped at the chance.  Snackbox provides a variety of healthy products in a box that is entirely devoted to snacking.  I absolutely love trying new products (especially healthy ones) but I hate investing in an entire package of something I may not like.  In swoops subscription boxes like Snackbox that give you a ton of variety for a minimal cost.  The best part?  It's mailed right to your door.

My Snackbox happened to come one day while my Father-in-Law was here helping us install our new floor.  That night we all sat down to watch a movie to unwind after a long day of hard work.  I pulled the Snackbox out, and we all passed around the snacks, sharing our favourites.  For movie nights alone I would order this box in a heartbeat!  It's full of a huge variety of healthy snacks which makes it perfect for any type of snacking scenario.

What I wasn't expecting is how much I enjoyed trying each and every single item in the box.  Every item is something I would have purchased or tried on my own.

Upon first opening this box I was greeted with a cute holiday card from the Snackbox crew! Snackbox included a card in each of their boxes, all featuring a squirrel (their logo).  It's a cute idea, I could see myself looking forward to this squirrels shenanigans as much as the box itself.

The box was HUGE an as you can see, packed full to the brim with goodness.

These were pistachio's were great, and high up on my list of favourites!  I love pistachio's and the saffron gave them a really nice flavour.

Marc's a huge fan of chips so these went over really well with him. In fact, I think it's safe to say this was his favourite treat in the entire box.

These were good, but a little chewier than I expected them to be (I always buy the Philippine Dried Mango's from Costco).  Marc's Dad ate these in a hurry though so they were pretty decent as far as dried fruit goes.

These banana crisps were SO good.  They were not at all what I was expecting!  They are full of healthy, all natural ingredients but taste really desserty.  I'm buying these again for sure (and let's be honest, probably trying to make a homemade version as well).

I was excited to see this because it's from Whistler, BC (which is somewhat close to where I live).  I have actually heard of this chocolate before, so I was looking forward to trying it!  It tasted really rich and smooth - I'll be stocking up on this chocolate for sure!

These chips were probably my least favourite of the bunch.  They weren't awful, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy them again.  They are made from the Yucca plant, not potatoes so they had a texture I wasn't really a huge fan of.  They tasted similar to those airy potato crisp snacks that were all the rage a few years back (kind of like rice cakes).

I'm working on a recipe for oven roasted chickpeas so I was really happy to see these in the box!  The smoky chili & lime flavours didn't really appeal to me, but the chickpeas themselves were really good.  They are nice and crunchy, and kind of reminded me of soy beans (which I used to LOVE but gave up years ago after becoming more informed on the genetic modifications that have been made to soy in recent years).

I buy this gum a lot.  I despise artificial sweeteners, but I still really enjoy gum.  This gum doesn't last as long as regular gum, and starts to get hard and chewy after awhile but it's a great alternative to the chemically alternative. Snackbox also included a coupon for the larger packages of this gum (including watermelon which I haven't tried yet!) so I will be using the coupon for sure!

I haven't tried this bar yet but it's in the pantry for the next time I have a day filled with meetings and no time to stop to eat (this happens far more often than I'd like to admit). The chocolate/coconut combination really appeals to me so I'm looking forward to trying this.

Who doesn't like hot chocolate?  This is going in my mug soon!  I love that it's fair trade.

I usually don't buy rice crackers but these ones pleasantly surprised me!  I love pecans and these had a distinct pecan flavour.  I would probably buy these again.

This was awesome!  I was planning on making sunbutter toast for breakfast, but I ended up having it with the pecan crackers above and it was pretty delicious!

Marc really liked this but I wasn't a huge fan.  It had too intense of a ginger flavour for me, but I could see myself buying this next time I feel a cold coming on!

All in all, I was pretty impressed with what Snackbox had to offer.  I am signing up for sure, and I can't wait to see what next month's box brings!

The folks over at Snackbox have offered to giveaway their January box to one lucky reader!  They also included a coupon code for everyone so if you are interested in trying out their services, head on over to www.getsnackbox.com and enter the code below:

Good Luck!

  18. Snackbox is pretty awesome! The only thing is that it's pretty expensive and hard for me to work into my budget every month. Hard to justify over $40 every month. I actually saw Little Life Box on your site and got my first box from this this past month, thanks for that! Almost half the price and you get a variety of different kinds of natural products try out. Great stuff!

  20. This saves plenty of time if you are looking to save money at a specific store. Another way to find BC shop coupons is in the towns themselves. Nairabargain
