RISE provided me with the products for this review/giveaway, though all opinions are 100% my own.
I first heard of kombucha from my good friend Shalan who makes her own brew. Her kombucha is absolutely delicious, and she's always happy to share her recent batch or even a scoby or two so I can try making it at home. I'm the kind of person who forgets things easily, and needless to say my homemade kombucha was an unfortunate victim. Kombucha is a living culture, and you have to feed it sugar to maintain it a little bit. Coupled with the fact that you actually have to put it in a dark corner somewhere while it ferments, I am prone to completely forgetting about it until it's too late. This is why RISE first appealed to me, because it's already brewed and bottled and 100% safe for me to drink without having to worry if I fed the darn thing.
So what is kombucha?
Kombucha is a raw, fermented, probiotic, and naturally carbonated tea. It's produced by fermenting sweetened black tea, using a colony of bacteria or yeast, usually called a "scoby". Kombucha is widely known for it's numerous health benefits, such as aiding in digestion, detoxing, immunity boosting, and joint care among others. Ancient Chinese called it the "Immortal Health Elixer".
Why RISE?
I've tried other kombucha teas on the market, and I honestly didn't care for them! They were either too vinegary, too sour, or just had an awful flavour, not at all what I was accustomed to when drinking my friend's delicious home brewed kombucha. Then came RISE, who's kombucha drinks taste exactly like the should - tangy, refreshing, and most importantly delicious. I love their flavour options (mint chlorophyl or rose schizandra for example!) - I'm really excited to try them all! RISE is raw, organic, vegan, fair trade, and made in Quebec, Canada.
Where can you find RISE?
RISE is available in over 400 stores across Canada! You can find the closest store in your local area by clicking here. I usually buy my RISE (and most of my organic, healthy products) from Nutter's in Jasper, AB. Their staff are helpful, friendly, and make my trip to their store that much more enjoyable! When I went there to pick up my case of kombucha for this review, they were just as excited about it as I was!
I decided to take the 10 day RISE challenge to see if I notice a difference in my overall health. I had to have my gallbladder removed a couple of years ago due to a dangerous gallstone, and my overall digestion has been slightly off kilter ever since. It will be interesting to see how I feel while on the challenge and if any of my symptoms improve! Each day I will be enjoying a delicious kombucha drink and sharing my progress with you all.
RISE has also agreed to give 1 lucky reader an entire case of their drinks (a $50 value!) so they can take the challenge as well! Enter using the Rafflecopter widget below. Good Luck!
