Classic Barbecued Cheese Burger

My husband makes the most incredible burgers - it's kind of his thing.  He takes pride in his role as grilling master and everything that comes off his grill is mind blowing delicious.  The spices are always so perfect, and the meat cooked to perfection.

The other day after a fun day of hiking I had an intense craving for one of his famous cheeseburgers.  He was kind enough to oblige - he even took photo's and wrote the recipe down for me so I could share it with you guys today!

So when you fire up your grill this long weekend, be sure to try this recipe and get ready to have the most delicious tasting burger of your entire life!

Happy Labour Day Weekend Everybody!

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 onion, finely diced
- 2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp smoked sea salt
- 2 tsp granulated garlic
- 1 tsp rosemary
- 1 medium egg
- 1 cup panko (coarse bread crumbs)
- 1 tsp worcheshire suace
- 1 tsp liquid hickory smoke (or use real hickory chips in BBQ if you have them)

Directions

Mix all ingredients thoroughly by hand or mixer.  Should press into six patties, maybe 8 if you like yours a bit smaller.

Preheat barbecue at medium heat.  Place patties on pre-heated grill and do not press on them.  Do not disturb the burgers until juices begin coming out of the top of them.  After this time they can be flipped.

Brush your favourite barbecue sauce on the burger after it has been flipped.

2 minutes before they are finished, put your favourite cheese on the patty.  Cheddar, asiago, or mozzarella are good choices.

Enjoy!
