Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are a favourite in our house (my husband devours these cookies by the handful).  They taste just like banana bread and are really soft; reminiscent of muffin tops.  The riper the banana's, the deeper the flavour will be.

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2/3 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup mashed bananas
- 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).  Grease cookie sheets.  Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda together, and set aside.

Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.  Beat in the eggs and vanilla.  Mix in the mashed bananas.  Add the flour mixture, and stir until just combined.  Stir in the chocolate chips.  Drop by spoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets.

Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.

  1. Although I am sure that these are great it would be nice to have a cookie recipe for someone who is allergic to bananas like me!

  2. What types of cookies do you like Tara? I have all sorts that don't require bananas. :)
